Rich Gaines is a tax attorney with over twenty three years of knowledge and experience, married and has twin children who were born on April 15.
Mr. Gaines received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in 1983. In furtherance of his legal education, Mr. Gaines pursued an advanced degree in taxation and was conferred the Masters of Law in Taxation from Denver University School of Law.
After working for prestigious Southern California CPA and Law Firms, Mr. Gaines established Gaines Legal Services in 1990.
Mr. Gaines approaches his work using a team based wealth management philosophy which allows for a client’s affairs to be reviewed comprehensively, cohesively and consistently.
Mr. Gaines served two years as chairperson of the North San Diego County Bar Association’s Tax Section and has testified as an expert witness in Court. He was a Board Member and Treasurer of a prominent San Diego Charitable Organization which provides needed and valued social services to the people of our community and throughout the nation.
Mr. Gaines has written numerous articles, conducted public and private seminars, and been on local radio and television news. He has been a much sought after guest speaker before such distinguished groups as the CPA/LAW forum, the North Coastal Estate Planning Council, the California Society of Enrolled Agents and the North San Diego County Bar Estate Planning and Probate Section. He also teaches a business law course for undergraduate students at the University of Phoenix.
Rich Gaines has lived in Carlsbad for over 18 years. He is an avid tennis player, likes to snow ski, travel and enjoy good food, good wine and good company.
